What is Emergency Management?
Emergency management is an organization built around the purpose of protecting communities from natural disasters (and sometimes other emergencies/events) through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

Prevention of Natural Disasters is our priority; when prevention isn’t achievable, we try to keep the harmful impacts of the Natural Disasters at a minimal.
What are the positions and responsibilities?
Director of Emergency Management (DEM)
Shane Poorman
The responsibilities are:
Educating the public, completing hazard assessments, recognizing when infrastructure needs improvements, develop & executing programs that prevent or mitigate the impacts any natural disaster can have in the community, develop emergency response plans, create/participate in training sessions, community outreach, life safety, incident stabilization, property preservation, evacuation & mass care.
During an emergency event, the director of emergency management performs all ICS command & and general staff responsibilities until he delegates it.
Deputy DEM
Dwayne Beaverbone
The responsibilities are the same as the Director of Emergency Management.
Liaison Officer
Wesson Bradshaw
The responsibilities are:
a point of contact for agency representatives assigned to the incident by assisting or cooperating agencies, provide briefings, facilitates coordination and can act as a concierge.
