O’Chiese First Nation Administration is committed to providing respectful, professional, and effective service to all community members. In return, we expect all interactions with our staff to remain respectful and free from abusive behavior.
Please be advised that abusive conduct toward staff will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
This includes, but is not limited to:
• Verbal abuse, yelling, or threatening language
• Harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory remarks
• Aggressive or hostile behavior in person, by phone, or through written communication
This policy applies to all service requests, including but not limited to:
• Purchase Order (PO) requests
• Band member assistance applications
• Administrative inquiries and support services
Our staff have the right to work in a safe and respectful environment. If a community member
behaves in an abusive or inappropriate manner, OCFN Administration reserves the right to refuse or delay service until the individual is calm and able to communicate respectfully.
We encourage all members to approach staff with courtesy and patience so that we can continue serving the community effectively and fairly.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Kind regards

MEMO: Census Team in Community
Hello O'Chiese Community Members,

The Census Team will be in the community beginning pre-listing.
This step is to help identify and confirm all dwellings to ensure everyone is included in the upcoming census.

During this time, census workers will be driving through the community and stopping briefly near homes to record address information. No questions will be asked at this stage, and there is no need to come outside.

For your awareness, census workers will be:
-Carrying official identification
-Conducting work during daytime hours

If you have any concerns, you are welcome to ask workers to show their identification.
This is not the full census - just preparation work to support an accurate and complete count.
If you have any questions or would like more information, Please contact Rebecca Ediale

MEMO - Measles Alert
If your child is showing symptoms of illness, please call 811 for medical advice instead of bringing them directly to the Health Centre.

Bringing potentially sick children to the Health Centre requires us to close and disinfect affected areas for over two hours, disrupting services and limiting care for others. With the high number of patients we are currently seeing, this also increases the risk of exposure for other community members and staff.
Your cooperation helps us keep the Health Centre safe, open, and available for those who need it most.
Please call 811 first — they will provide guidance on the next steps for your child’s care.

NEW ROLL-OFF BIN:
What can go in it?
Please see the list below of the recyclable materials that can be placed in your roll-off bin.
All recyclable materials are being placed into the roll-off bin that just arrived at the waste transfer site. This marks the beginning of our new national recycling initiative—an effort to set a positive example and lead the way for other nations to follow in sustainable waste management.
